It’s Not All Fantasy

From what all of you are asking me, you want to know a bit more about Carrie Ann and what she does, so here goes. As you know the theme of ‘Sweet Secrets,’ is baking, but it’s not all about that. My heroine has had a tough time as we find out from page one. Her burgeoning erotic cake business is about to change her life, but first of all she has to face the secrets and demons of her past with the further complication of finding love when she least expects it.
There is a fair amount of darkness to Carrie Ann’s personality and past and ‘Sweet Secrets’ features on how she overcomes all of this and finds her true self. Years spent nursing her sick manipulative father, and pandering to his idiosyncrasies have made her see life as a frightening arena. Forced into a being little more than a recluse she has been dominated by her father and has learnt to hide her secrets so she lives within a fantasy existence coloured by her love interest Latham Crosswick — world famous patissier and a man every woman wants to seduce. Being confined to the house has also made her anxious and scared of the outside world but Carrie Ann still has enough courage to one day escape to a cake fair where she meets her hero in the flesh. She uses this encounter to further embellish her fantasies and also proves to herself she is a better baker than she thought, when on a whim she enters a bakery competition and wins it. It spurs her on to fulfil her dream.
I intentionally set out to make the fantasy aspect of Carrie Ann’s life an important part of this novel and Carrie Ann has some very hot dreams about Latham Crosswick indeed. He is a fun personality for her to explore and provides I hope, an amusing twist.
What I wanted to show with this theme ultimately, was how fantasy dissolves into reality when she meets her real love interest. Enter Dominic, male lead and flesh and blood man. Before she knows it, Carrie Ann’s fantasy life is taking a backseat as her feelings awaken and love presents itself. By the end of the novel Latham has faded into the right place and inhabits just a small compartment of Carrie’s Ann’s mind as she explores hot possibilities with her new lover, besides facing the conundrum of how to extricate herself from a web of lies and at last come clean with her secret.

About Constance Munday

Constance is nearly always to be found with a pencil in her hand making notes for a new story. She has led a varied life and done many jobs from cup washer, lecturer, to new age healer but has always written since she was a child.

A major health scare recently though, made her see life differently, and after years as a part-time writer, she turned full-time, because as she says - life is too short not to do what you love. She has literally climbed a mountain and made many sacrifices to pen her novels and now builds on a fund of wonderful encounters with intriguing people, plus her imagination, to write stories with strong characters and determined and adventurous women.

When asked what kind of genre is her favourite, romance is always the answer because to Constance, romance - whether hot and steamy or sweet and emotional is always at the heart of a good story. She hopes her stories reflect all of life’s facets from the struggling mother at home who finds a way out of poverty, the ardent and often disappointed dieter, to the girl who triumphs over sickness or has the courage to embrace her rather naughty side.

Constance loves listening to snatched conversations, which often gives her a seed to start a story, taking walks, revelling in the mysteries of life and baking and dancing, when she isn’t tapping away at her latest novel, of course.

She loves her fans and their comments, so invites you to please drop a line and if you have a second, pen a review.
