-->Love turns to blood when Shiloh, Alpha of the Catskill Wolf Pack, meets newcomer Austin Turner. Her beast wants the mouthwatering werewolf with a desire like she’s never known. And despite the tattoos running up and down his arms, he seems like the perfect mate. That is until mysterious things start happening in the pack. Then Shiloh finds herself in a race to find out where the violence is coming from, and all signs point to him. Can she stop the violence? Or will her hunger for Austin leave the blood of her own pack on her hands?

“I’ve been dying to kiss you ever since I laid eyes on you.” He said his admission a siren’s call in the quiet of the night. “May I?”
What would the pack think? Their leader kissing a relative unknown. Uncertainty clouded my judgment for the first time in forever. I looked back to the pack and realized we were alone in the clearing. Shouts of laughter and howls could be heard deep in the woods. They were off doing God knew what.
If there was ever a time to taste those incredible lips, now was it. Every nerve stood on end as I swallowed.
It felt very surreal to say, “You may.”
My beast stood up and cocked her head. He slid toward me in the night. She stalked closer to the surface. Was this really happening?
I’m usually the aggressive one in sexual situations, but this time I just waited. Waited to see what he would do. The anticipation ratcheted as he brought his hand up to cup my jaw line. The tips of his fingers reached my ear. I forgot to breathe as his finger caressed my earlobe.
Then there were his lips. They came ever closer, inch by inch. My lips ached for him. He stopped though and just stared at me. I could almost see the stars reflected in his eyes.
“You’re breathtaking,” he whispered against my lips.
Then he answered my prayers and closed the space between us.
It was delicate at first. The softness of his lips played against mine: touching, tasting. It was heaven. The world fell away as my eyes closed.
Every fiber of my body was focused on the way his lips slipped over mine. My mind spun as he pulled me closer still. The heat of his body seared me. I nipped at his lips. He wasn’t close enough. Urgency flooded through me. I pulled at him. Groaning, he molded his lips to mine.
Desperate for more of him, I opened my mouth. My breath hitched as our lips and tongues danced. Heat flooded through me. My beast reached for him through our lips. She wasn’t the only one either. I tasted the dusky earthiness of his own beast as he reached for mine.

Hi! My name is Erica Reeder. But you don’t want to know just my name, do you? You want to know me. The REAL me. Not the veneered person from the picture. Well, you’re in luck- this is your chance!! And if these questions don’t satisfy you, my books certainly will. ;) (If you know what I mean! *wink, wink- nudge, nudge*)

How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
I have been writing for forever. Well, pretty close. I have been writing for 24 years. I know that makes me seem like I’m 100 years old, but it’s not quite that dramatic. I started writing in 6th grade. I won Young Authors and it opened up a whole new world (cue the Aladdin music!) I was all, “Wow, I REALLY enjoyed writing that! Wait…people LIKED it? Hold on, you’re saying I can do this for a LIVING?! Sign me up!!!” And the rest, as they say, is history.

How did you come up with this storyline?
I’ve been knocking around the idea of a female alpha who wears heels for quite some time. I love the idea of a strong woman leading the pack and completely reversing gender roles. It’s so important to me that she be feminine too. It gets so old this idea that only manly women can be strong. Screw that- put on some heels and work it! Anyway, I had the chance to write that character, Shiloh, in my last book, Nevermore. She kept calling to me, so I stopped what I was doing and gave her this story.

What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?
The best aspect of writing is when I’m writing I understand everything in the world I’m creating. Good. Bad. Innocent. Evil. It all has a reason. It all has a place. That is so attractive to me because I don’t always understand the world we are in. Senseless things happen everyday. I like reason and logic.
You might be asking what that has to do with Paranormal and Fantasy. That’s a damn good question! And that’s where I get to be me! I crave the impossible and the infinite possibilities that go along with the thought, “What if the impossible WERE possible?” How much fun would that be?! Those are the best parts of writing to me. The worst aspect of writing is trying to revise the story on the page to match what’s in my head. There’s so much I want to put in, but as a writer you can only include what moves the story forward with only a few auxiliary pieces sprinkled in. That can make the process painful!!!

What inspires you to write?
Sanity. If I don’t write for awhile, I start to become bitey. I get irritated easily and unhappy. It’s like my brain forgets why until I write again. Then it all comes back like, “Oh, that’s right. I need to write to not be a jerk!” I can’t be sane without it!

If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it? Do You Want To Touch Me There? An Inspiring Tale of Freedom, Faith, and Glitter

What are 3 of your favorite lines from Call of the Beast: Head over Heels?
  1. “Austin Turner had lips that screamed of ecstasy. They called to me: taste me, touch me.”
  2. “He broke our kiss only long enough to toss my shirt and lace bra to the ground. I took the same amount of time to grab his shirt by each side and rip. Buttons popped and fell onto the wood floor like rain.
  3. “My beast bumped against me when she noticed it was just him and I alone in the woods. She thought she was going to get what she wanted. Get what she’d been begging for since she’d smelled him. She whispered to me, Take him.”
What would your friends say is your best quality?
My sense of humor.

Are reader reviews important to you? Why?
Reader Reviews couldn’t be more important. First it’s direct feedback. If a reader doesn’t like something, I need to know so I can change it. I write to entertain, so if I’m not succeeding, there is a big problem! If there are too many poor reviews, I’ll actually revise an entire book!! It’s also important on the business side of things. Reviews can sway a reader’s opinion on whether to buy a book or not. And being able to continue to do what I love means the world to me.

Name one funny trait your have that you would like others to know.
I have the uncanny ability to turn almost anything into a sexual innuendo. It’s my super power.

Favorite place to eat?
In bed

If you were one piece of clothing, what would you be?
A skort, because I’m the cute of a skirt but can’t restrain myself enough from fun to be anything other than shorts beneath it all.

Tell us about your other books?
My main series is about a faerie princess who doesn’t want to be a faerie princess. She’s been living away from faeries for some time and is a kick-butt bounty hunter now. The series starts out with her taking the case of a murdered faerie. During the case, unbeknownst to her she falls for her mortal enemy. I love the series because her wit and attitude leave me rolling.

Or if you’ve already read that one, you can pick up Nevermore, the second, here:

If you could share one thing about yourself that you would like readers to know what would it be?
I love glitter. Ok, love doesn’t quite cut it. Obsessed. Yeah, that’s closer. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my glitter all over everything: my kid, my husband, my yoga mat, my keyboard- you name it. It makes me happy every time. And that isn’t an exaggeration!

Other things you never wanted to know about the REAL me: I don’t think anyone ever sat down and explained the word “Boundaries” to me because I don’t have any. The ones I do have are just ones that I have to force myself to acknowledge to be a decent person. I always joke that I need to establish more boundaries because the ones I have are like lines in the sand. Someone keeps rubbing them out! (See- I told you. I can’t help it!)

And because this is my interview, here is a random list of things I love:

Glitter
Cats
Family
Vampires
Hair Pulling
Jeeps
Laughing
Friends
Faeries
Handcuffs
A Man’s Chest
Whispering
Music – which music fluctuates based on my mood. I’m this loving right now. It makes me laugh and is catchy as hell. Besides, Joan Jett, come on she’s awesome!

That’s all for now. Come on over and see me at www.facebook.com/authorericareeder. We’ll have more fun there!

-->Erica Reeder spends her free time…wait- what free time?! In her mind, she’d spend it taking trips and playing on the beach with her son and husband. In reality, her time is filled with cooking up kooky characters and scheming plot twists, sprinkled in with playing The Sims and a healthy dose of family time.
